Spring is in the Air; Are You Ready for Change?
By Pastor Daniel D. Saugh

Spring has sprung and is full bloom in the air. Did this time spring upon you too fast? Are you ready for a new beginning? Often times, life happens quickly. Changes are inevitable. They are part and parcel of the journey of life. However, we are not always comfortable or even ready for change. We often resist change. Yet, when change occurs, we must make adjustments and adaptations and embrace change as something healthy that contributes to our growth and development.
Having arrived to assume my new responsibilities at the Meadowvale Seventh-day Adventist Church since January 2006, it has been a significant change. For many reasons, it has been a most positive change. Unexpected, not quite; Anxious, a little; Anticipation, very high; and blessings, unbounded! As a truism, so far so good. I know that this period of time is often referred to as a “honeymoon.” It’s a great feeling. In fact, you wish it could last incessantly and be interminable.

Consequently, as a matter of fact, I believe it can. “Honeymooning” doesn’t mean everything is perfect; it simply means enjoying the experience or journey. On that note, that is what is has been so far. The joy to meet wonderful people in my new found Meadowvale Church Family has been thrilling, exciting and rewarding. Coming from a larger church family to a smaller one has helped me get to know people at a more genuine level.

After much prayer and preparation I have embraced this change. Before my arrival and installation, I claimed this passage of Scripture in Isaiah 43:18-19 which states, “Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old; Behold, I do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
I have claimed this text in the name of Jesus as a launching pad for my ministry at Meadowvale. I claim this text for every member and family. I claim this text for future of Meadowvale. I know and believe since I have been here that God indeed is doing a new thing. Nothing can stop or stymie the progress of God. For we know that “No weapon formed against shall prosper.” I sense it, I feel it, and I see it. Let God continue to have His way and work His will in our lives and in our Church Family.   We will go forward, press on, embrace change, accept the new beginnings of springtime and let God make a way for us that we have never known before.

Thank you for embracing change. Thank you for embracing me. It’s my privilege to serve each of you and let the honeymoon never end.

Let’s go on, for I’m waiting till my change comes how about you?
